BIG OAK TREE STATE PARK - This 1,000 acre Department of Natural Resources state park is noted for its' state and national champion trees. Eighty acres are designated as a National Natural Landmark Area. A boardwalk provides the visitor an opportunity to stand alongside giant hardwoods. The park has an interpretive center, 22 acre fishing lake, playground area and picnic sites.

EAST PRAIRIE FAMILY RECREATION FACILITY - The new facility has facilities for tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, shuffleboard and a walking trail.

TEN MILE POND CONSERVATION AREA - During late fall and winter, several species of ducks and geese frequent the site. Another winter visitor is the American Bald Eagle. Large numbers of migrating shore birds use the area during migration. The site is owed and managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

ROBERT G. DELANEY LAKE (formerly Upper Big Lake) - This 112 acre lake contains 30 acres of cypress forest. A handicap fishing dock and a boat ramp help to make this site a fisherman's delight. The site is owned and managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

ATTRACTIONS
BELMONT MARKER - The battle of Belmont, Brigadier General Ulysses S. Grant's first battle of the Civil War in November 1861, was fought on Mississippi County soil. the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has erected an informational plaque at the battle site.

TOWOSAHGY STATE HISTORIC SITE - Towosahgy, an Osage Indian word meaning "Old Town," was a fortified ceremonial center inhabited by the Mississippian Era Mound Builders. The site consists of a temple mound and six smaller mounds.
